If you’ve just received your Amazon package, only to find out that not all of your order’s items are in the package, there are a few things you should do. The first step is to check to see if your missing item is in another package on its way to you.
Sometimes, Amazon orders will be split up into different packages, as they will be coming from different warehouses and areas. This is common. Check your Amazon “Your Orders” page to track your packages and see if this has happened.
This page will let you know if your order has been split up into different packages. If you see that missing item there, in another package and still on its way to you, then you needn’t worry.
If you do not see this item in another package, and instead it’s listed as having been sent with the package you just received, then you need to move on to the second step listed below.
If your item was supposed to be delivered to you, yet it wasn’t, you’ll want to begin the process of doing something right away. Don’t wait around. The longer you wait to report this issue, the longer it will take for Amazon to help you.
Finally, you’ll want to contact Amazon Support if you have not received this missing item. Let them know what’s going on and work to get the item replaced.
Often, Amazon is really easy to work with in this situation, and they’ll work to send the item to you free of charge very quickly. You just have to be the one to initiate the conversation!
This depends on the customer saying the item is missing, as well as the price of the item. For example, if you’ve often had issues with missing items in your orders recently, then Amazon may begin to require more information about the situation.
This is because you can only have so many “issues” that arise before Amazon begins to ask questions. Often, Amazon is quite good at ensuring that all items are in the package — though problems can occur.
Sometimes, honest customers have these problems and must work with Amazon to prove that they truly didn’t receive the missing item. Just always remember that frequent missing items in a months-long span will make it harder to work with Amazon.
Amazon may also look at the shipping weight of the package, especially if an expensive item is reported as missing. They’ll want to make sure things are completely above board in this situation.
Normally, however, Amazon will just quickly replace your missing item with another without too much hassle.
Once you get in contact with Amazon Support over the missing item from your order, you’ll better learn the options that you have. Often, customers choose to just have the item sent to them again, free of charge.
You might also be able to receive a refund for the missing item, especially if you don’t need or want that item anymore. Just let Amazon know you’d like a refund, rather than a replacement. This shouldn’t be too much of a problem!
If there’s a missing part from your product, rather than a missing item, then you have a few different options you can choose from. Often, contacting the product’s manufacturer is the best way to go.
Unfortunately, sometimes this doesn’t always help, either because the manufacturer is hard to reach or won’t help as you need them to. If this is the case, then you can always return or replace your items by going to the “Your Orders” section on your Amazon account!
If your Amazon package does not include all parts of your order, first start by ensuring that your missing item is not coming in a separate package. If your item truly is missing, you should then get in contact with Amazon Support to receive a replacement item.
