Amazon is a giant e-commerce company with excellent shipping and delivery services. They ship packages to different addresses in the United States and other parts of the world.
If you’re expecting an Amazon package, you may wonder if you can pick it up early. Here’s a complete guide.
Can I Pick Up My Amazon Package Early?
You can pick up your Amazon package early at verified Amazon pickup points like the Amazon Hub location, Kohl’s, USPS, and Whole Foods. You cannot pick up Amazon packages directly from an Amazon facility. There is no way to get your package early if you’ve chosen the home delivery option.
Where can you pick up your Amazon packages? Can you pick them up at USPS or from an Amazon facility? Do you have to notify them of a pickup? Keep reading to find out.
You can pick your package from designated Amazon retail outlets and other Amazon-approved pickup points. Some pickup points include
- The Amazon Hub Locker or Counter near you
- Through designated retail outlets like Kohl’s, Whole Foods, and Amazon Fresh
- Through USPS
So, Amazon can send your package to an Amazon hub counter or locker location. You can also pick up your package at a retail store or USPS.
If you choose to ship to an Amazon hub (locker or counter), Amazon will not charge you a transaction fee. However, if you don’t pick up your package within a stated time (3 days for locker, 7 days for counter), Amazon will return the package to the facility and refund you.
Amazon can also deliver these packages to any approved convenience store you choose. You must, however, pick up the package in-store within seven days. If pick-up delays further, the store will return the package to Amazon.
The staff will hand the package to you for in-store pickup when you present the barcode. You can also ask a friend to help you pick up your package with your Amazon barcode.
Can You Pick up a Package From an Amazon Facility?
You cannot pick up your package at the Amazon fulfillment facility even if you stay close to the location. Amazon facility is where Amazon assembles and packages goods before they go on to deliver them to different locations.
Amazon does not also allow customers to return packages at the Amazon warehouse. However, you can pick up your package from different Amazon distribution points like Amazon Hub Locker or Counter if all the items in your order are eligible for pick up using this method.
- Amazon Hub Locker
If you want to pick up your Amazon package at any Amazon hub locker, you can go yourself or send someone else to pick it up. However, you or anyone you send must have the pickup code sent to your email.
Without the code, you won’t be able to unlock the locker and access the package. You must pick up your Amazon package from the Amazon hub locker within three calendar days.
- Amazon Hub Counter
If you choose Amazon counter, Amazon will send you an email when your Amazon package is ready for pick up. This email will include a unique pickup barcode, a shipping tracking ID, the address of the selected pick-up location, and their opening times.
You should present this to the store associate who will give you your Amazon package after they have checked the confirmation email. So, you or anyone you send must have this email. You must pick up your Amazon package from the Amazon hub counter within seven calendar days.
You can pick up Amazon packages at Whole Foods. Whole foods is one of the retail outlets owned by Amazon where organic and local products are sold.
Amazon has provisions for customers to pick up their packages at whole foods. Customers can also return approved packages to Amazon through Whole Foods as well.
At Whole Foods, Amazon provides customers with counter and locker pick-up options. Customers can buy items through the Amazon marketplace and pick them up using the counter and locker available at Whole Foods.
Amazon Prime subscribers may enjoy the same-day delivery option at Whole Foods.
You can pick up Amazon packages at USPS. To pick up an Amazon package at USPS, you can select the closest post office as your pick-up point. USPS will send you a mail when your Amazon package is available for pick up.
To collect your package through the post office, you must present a means of identification. It could be your identity card or driver’s license. Packages delivered through USPS can only be collected by the person the package was sent to.
Amazon customers can pick up their packages at the post office ahead of USPS delivery. USPS also offers free package pick-up with terms and conditions. Although, USPS has certain restrictions on package delivery based on its size.
Amazon customers can pick up their packages at Kohl’s. This is because Kohl’s is one of Amazon’s participatory stores that act as pick-up points for Amazon customers.
You can select any nearest Kohl’s retail outlet as your pick-up point for the Amazon package. Apart from picking up your Amazon packages, you can return packages Amazon has approved for return to Kohl’s.
Unlike other retail stores that insist you return the approved packages with the original package, Kohl’s accepts such packages with or without its box.
